Our Team
We have a stable, experienced staff that has been a part of Reading for Kids for years. They have degrees is various fields: elementary education, special education, speech and language, and English. Our diverse staff is more than able to meet the diverse needs of students.
Dr. Cindy Helberg, Ed.D.
Owner / Reading Tutor
Dr. Helberg has a passion for helping struggling readers. 28+ years of experience in several school districts has provided her with a strong foundation for teaching students with various learning challenges.
Dr. Helberg's undergraduate and master’s degrees are in the field of special education and learning disabilities. Her doctorate was earned in the study of education leadership with an emphasis on curriculum.
Mary
Reading Tutor
Mary is a 30 year veteran of an elite private school with a passion for reading and written expression. She has been a part of the Reading for Kids team since 2007.
Cela
Reading Tutor
Cela has worked at various schools in the area over the last 25+ years. She is a strong advocate for the children she works with. She has been a part of the Reading for Kids team since 2012.
Cathy
Reading Tutor
Cathy is a retired first grade teacher with 25+ years experience. Her degree is in early education. She is a calm, positive tutor who enjoys helping young readers experience the magic of getting lost in a good book. She has been a part of the Reading for Kids team since 2006.
Lisa
Reading Tutor
Lisa is a young teacher who is intelligent and creative. She loves being able to watch children as everything they have learned comes together and “clicks”. She has her degree in Elementary Education. She has been a part of the Reading for Kids team since 2011.
Cara
Reading Tutor
Cara wants to inspire students to enjoy the art of creative writing. She has a degree in Public Relations and Journalism. She has been a part of the Reading for Kids team since 2010.
